Push back Pallet Racking

Pushback Pallet Racking provides highly effective use of space by combining high-density storage with high-speed access. The system offers safe and dense storage for up to 5 pallets deep storage and typically up to 5 pallets high. Pallets are placed by forklift from the same aisle on nested carts riding on inclined rails.

Each pallet is then pushed back by subsequent pallet loading, exposing the next cart or cradle. When removing product, the forklift takes out the front pallet, allowing the pallets on carts behind it to roll gently to the front of the rack, so the pick face remains constantly full. Pushback Racking operates on the FILO (First In, Last Out) principle.

Key Features:

  • Reduced pick times
  • Highly efficient use of space
  • Pick faces automatically replenished
  • Order processing simplified by stock accessibility
  • Low-risk level of stock damage as the forklift never enters the rack
  • No special forklift is required, variety of handling equipment can be used
  • Pallet quality itself not so critical as the cart or cradle is always used

Special Requirements:

  • Limited selectivity; first in, last out (FILO) stock rotation for drive-in system
