Drive-In or Drive Thru Pallet Racking

Drive-In Pallet Racking System is widely used for high-density storage where individual selectivity is not important and the product range is very limited. Pallets are stored in a block system, undivided by operating aisles.

Forklift trucks drive into the racking to load or retrieve pallets, which are stored on cantilevered rails running throughout the system.   The first pallet in is the last one out FILO (First in, Last out), unless a drive-thru system is used whereby the pallets can be loaded or retrieved from either side.

Key Features:

  • Great for space utilization due to high-density block stacking storage
  • Offers almost double the storage capacity over selective methods
  • Suitable for cold stores, dry stores, and bulk storage applications
  • Suitable for fragile products, which cannot be floor block stacked
  • Highly customizable, can be customized in 3 ways – length, depth, and height
  • Self-centering pallet support rails, eliminate stock collision to the sides of the racking structure
  • Top & Spine bracing design solution, adding safety to the racking structure
  • No special forklift is required. Pallets can be serviced by both reach and counterbalance forklifts
  • Double entry configuration option where the racks can be accessed from both sides
  • Designed and manufactured to Australian Standards with high-strength tensile steel

Special Requirements:

  • Limited selectivity; first in, last out (FILO) stock rotation for drive-in system
  • Floor Guide Rails are recommended for systems storing more than four pallets deep
  • Lanes to be filled/emptied in vertical layers

Each warehouse storage facility has its own unique set of challenges and goals; therefore, we recommend consulting a warehouse layout and design specialist for a professional opinion to assist you in achieving the optimum storage solution for you.
